Introducing the New Model CSX

We’re excited to announce the newest addition to the Citizen lineup: the Model CSX.

The CSX was designed directly from customer feedback—clear, consistent requests that kept showing up in conversations, emails, and player sessions. Instead of overthinking it, we built exactly what players asked for.

Built for what players asked for

The first driving force behind the CSX is weight. A lot of players wanted a lighter instrument that still feels resonant and alive in the hands. To achieve that, the CSX uses a Paulownia body—lightweight, responsive, and ideal for long sets, rehearsals, and everyday playing without fatigue.

Next was the neck's look and feel under the fingers. Many players specifically asked for maple fretboards, so the CSX delivers exactly that. The result is a snappy, articulate attack with a familiar feel and look that sits right at home in modern and traditional playing styles alike.

Finally, a consistent request from S-style players: no pickguard. The CSX features a clean, uninterrupted top with no pickguard, giving the instrument a more refined, modern aesthetic that highlights the finish of the body.

Finish options

The CSX launches with two standard colors:

1. Shell Pink
2. Metallic Black

In addition, we’re offering a third option:

Custom Color Configuration

With this option, youcan choose:

• Body color
• Neck color
• Headstock color
• Hardware color
• Pickup color

This allows for a fully personalized instrument while keeping the core CSX platform consistent, all without custom shop pricing.

Familiar feel, refined platform

Even with its new direction, the CSX still shares many of the core specs players already know and love across the Citizen lineup:

• 25" scale length
• Medium C neck profile
• 22 frets
• 12" radius
• 43mm nut width
• Hipshot US Contour Tremolo

It is also available in both Standard Series and PRO Series configurations, so players can choose the level of refinement and hardware specification that best fits their needs.

Availability

The CSX will be available very soon. We’re currently completing final assembly and setups, and once that process is finished, we’ll share new product photos and videos.
